The 1886 Chicago White Sox won their franchise's second straight pennant, and the squad is considered one of the top teams of the 19th century. Offered is a 4-1/4" x 7-1/2" silk that pictures this fantastic team. Each player is shown in uniform and is identified above or below his image. Includes: McCormick, Williamson, Dalrymple, Burns, Clarkson, Sunday, Gore, Flint, Anson, Pfeffer and Kelly. The players' images are all strong and instantly recognizable. The fragile silk, itself, displays well, but exhibits various stitch marks that are generally relegated to border areas but which do dot the player images in the top row. In addition, a small tear is evident in Kelly's image, and the upper left corner of the silk has been reattached. (Those repairs are apparent on the reverse.) About VG/EX obverse appearance. An extremely rare, perhaps one-of-a-kind collectible.
