This boxing collection covers pugilists and boxing events from 1894 to 1995. Includes: 1894 "Portrait Gallery" Series (12) - series of twelve parts of "The Portrait gallery of Pugilists of America and their Contemporaries from James J. Corbett to Tom Hyer" by Billy Edwards (ex-champion light weight.The 11" x 14-3/4" booklets vary in page length, and are GD/VG to VG/EX in appearance with toning, wear to the edges and many with covers and/or some pages detached. Features such boxers as John Sullivan, James Corbett, Paddy Ryan, Tug Wilson, Patsy Cardiff, Jim Daly, Peter Maher, Jack Dempsey and many others; 1895 Gladiators of the Prize Ring: Heros of All Nations by Billy Edwards Hardbacks (2 Different) - hardcover books published by The Athletic Publishing Company in Chicago in 1895. One features a red cover, the other features a dark blue cover (title page has been repaired). Generally VG in appearance; Circa 1910 "Our Champion" James Jeffries One-Cent Box - 1-1/2" x 2-1/8" x 1/2" one-cent box that reads "Our Champion" on front, left and right, and reads "One Cent" on top and bottom. The front features a crossed-arm Jeffries. VG/EX in appearance with wear to edges and corners; Circa 1935 Joe Louis Fight Flyers (3) - each measures 6" x 12-1/4". Includes: Joe Louis vs. Carnera "Man Mountain of Italy," and Joe Louis vs. King Levinsky (2). about EX; May 6, 1995 De La Hoya vs. Ruelas Official Program - 34-page, unscored program for the World Lightweight Title fight. EX/MT in appearance.
