Graded 10 PR 1 by SGC, one of just five copies graded by that company. (Competing grading service PSA has holdered one specimen.) Charles "Chief" Bender, of Native American descent, debuted in 1903 as an eighteen year old. He possessed great command of the strike zone, and allowed just 712 free passes in over 3,000 innings pitched. Over the course of his career, he posted a 212-127 win-loss record for a .625 winning percentage, along with an ERA of 2.46. A focused, yet stoic gaze of Bender is seen on the obverse of this collectible. Corner wear, creasing and two pieces of tape can be seen on the reverse of this blank-backed rarity. As a point of value reference, a PSA PR 1 example of this card sold for $10,575 at auction in 2011. Poor condition.
