Graded VG 3 by PSA, the lone copy validated by that company. (Competing grading service SGC has holdered two, lesser specimens.) Hall of Famer Jake Beckley enjoyed a twenty-year career in the big leagues, which began in 1888 as a twenty-year old. That season-playing for the Pittsburgh Allegheny's-he batted a very respectable .343. Over the course of his career, he rapped out 2,934 hits which translated into a lifetime .308 batting average. Not many cards were produced during his playing days, of which this Breisch Williams memento was one of them. Aside from its condition detriments (uniform corner wear, light staining, and a scratch on the obverse), this example has a great obverse aesthetic. The cards' back concedes light toning, but exhibits a boldly printed reverse. Very Good condition.
