Graded 50 VG/EX 4 by SGC. This is one of two examples at its tier (with one graded higher) among a total of 13 copies recorded in SGC's census reporting. During the 1920s, "Rajah" posted some very impressive batting statistics. Six consecutive batting titles (1920-1925). He hit for the triple crown in 1922 (.401, 42 HR's and 152 RBI's), and eclipsed the .400 mark twice: .424 in 1924, and .403 in 1925. Over his twenty-three year career, he posted a .358 batting average (second only to Ty Cobb in Major League Baseball history), 301 HR's and 1,584 RBI's. Simply put, he was one of the greatest right-handed hitters to ever play the game. Offered is a scarce 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy collectible depicting this future Hall of Famer. The E135 Collins-McCarthy production was produced on a slightly thinner stock and a very glossy surface that is susceptible to wear and creasing. This well-centered example is downgraded solely to uniform corner wear and presents well for it's assigned grade level. Here's a seldom-seen, and crease-free example, in stunning Very Good to Excellent condition.
