This side-by-side sepia-toned photo features the World's home run record maker and breaker. The maker, Buck Freeman, held the record at 25 home runs in one season, and Ruth passed him up when he hit his 26th home run in 1919. He finished the season with 29 homers total. Freeman is the answer to this tough trivia question concerning who held the single season home run mark prior to Ruth breaking and rebreaking it for the remainder of his career. The 8" x 10" photo composite exhibits minor chipping and wear at the corners. The back bears an Underwood & Underwood caption piece dated "9/9/19" and multiple stampings. A PSA/DNA label has been adhered near the top left corner. Encapsulated as Type III by PSA/DNA.
