On June 28, 1934, President Roosevelt and his cabinet attended the Yankees-Senators game at Griffith Stadium, and incredibly, there remains film footage of the army band playing "Hail to the Chief," the Senators parading for a flag-raising ceremony to honor their 1933 A.L. pennant, and Babe Ruth presenting Secretary of War George Dern with a special bat and ball—symbolizing those donated to U.S. servicemen. (The video can be viewed by clicking here.) Gehrig also posed with Dorn, as seen here and editorially notated on the reverse along with a stamped filing date of "JUL 8 1935." Condition of the 7" x 9" photo is VG/EX. Encapsulated as Type I by PSA/DNA.
