As great as this image is—with Gehrig's winning smile and his 1939 World's Fair uniform patch—the Wide World paper caption is almost equally as special! Dated 5/23/38, its captivating description reads, "NEAR THE 2,000TH CONSECUTIVE GAME MARK - In the dugout Gehrig prefers a seat on the concrete steps to one on the air-cushioned bench. Sports writers and fans call him Columbia Lou, Larruping Lou, Iron Man and the Iron Horse. Since his excursion into making western movies, they have added the monikers Rawhide and Two Gun." Condition of the 6" x 8" photo is EX/MT. LOA for Type I by PSA/DNA.
