While there have obviously been many great runs of winning years compiled by the New York Yankees, it could easily be argued that their five straight American League championships from 1960 to 1964 represented their best-ever clubs. Likely, since they had less success than usual in those five World Series going 2-3, that argument would come up a little short but without a doubt the Bombers in the early-1960s was a dynamite group and did, in fact, win the World Series in 1962, defeating the SF Giants in seven games. This Official AL Joe Cronin baseball bears 27 signatures. Maris, Mantle and Howard are clubhouse signatures. Signers include Jim Bouton, Phil Linz, Yogi Berra, Bill Skowron, Bill Stafford, Ed Ford (Whitey), Roland Sheldon, Tom Tresh, Ralph Terry, Bud Daley, Bill Gardner, Hec Lopez, Marshall Bridges, Bobby Richardson, John Blanchard, Jack Reed, Luis Arroyo, Bob Cerv and more. Moderately heavy even toning to the baseball and the signatures are reasonably dark and somewhat consistent in the 5 / 6 / 7 of 10 range. Auction LOA from JSA.
