We introduce this 8-piece assortment of sporting pins to confess that a couple of them are probably little more than souvenirs. Conversely, there are also a couple that are probably high-octane keepsakes. In no particular order then, may we detail: 1) "Philadelphia Flyers 1970-71" - beautifully crafted pin that likely served as a press pin for the Flyers' competition in the playoffs or for home games that season. The needle has been replaced, but this piece is otherwise NM; 2) "2001 NHL PHWA" (Professional Hockey Writers' Association) - quite likely prepared and distributed to that close fraternity of sportswriters for a special occasion (perhaps an All-Star Game or the playoffs of 2001), Mint; 3) "1974 Philadelphia Flyers" - fashioned as a rendering of the Stanley Cup. Due to the substance of this piece, we doubt that it was a souvenir, but instead ordered and dispensed to a short list of recipients in celebration of the team's first Stanley Cup victory, EX-EX/MT; 4) "1987" (Stanley Cup) - this one is probably a souvenir; a brooch-back that was cast in an economy material with no illustration other than the year; 5) "Knicks...Press" - this is a nice piece that's moderately tarnished on the reverse, but particularly intriguing is that this Knicks logo was used only from the mid-60s to the early '70s, EX/MT; 6) "Super Bowl XXVII" (1992) - though appearing to be a press pin, this is actually a pin that was issued by the NFL Players' Association for that event, Mint; 7) Miami Dolphins helmet - an attractive pin, but this is a souvenir piece, Mint; 8) "World Cup USA 94" - another nice piece, but this is also a souvenir from our hosting of the World Cup that year, Mint.
