Lefty Grove shakes hands with Judge Landis while Connie Mack and American League president Will Harridge look on. Inscription on back in pencil reads "Lefty Grove famed fireballer of the 1929-30-31 Mack teams and one of the few former Mackmen still in baseball, gets a big handshake from 'His Nibs' Judge Landis." 8" x 10" with pencil notations and Sporting News stamp on back. "The Sporting News," which still exists today was founded in 1886 by Alfred H. Spink and became the preeminent American Publication covering baseball. This photograph came directly from the archives of the "Sporting News" and has been designated as such by the official Sporting News hologram that has been adhered to the reverse. This original hologram assures its provenance as being acquired directly from this historic archive.
