Legendary August 2010

Excelling at every scrutinized consideration, this 1936 All-Star Game program meets, or exceeds, the standards of NM/MT - this one is a beauty. The hosting Boston Braves finessed the expense of a special publication for this mid-summer extravaganza, simply printing the exclusive scorecard pages to suit the event. As such, the covers and ancillary pages fairly replicate the team's regular season programs. This one is not scored, and we report that its entire material composition is ideally fresh - no wear at the corners, no partial separations at the spine, nor are there any creases or compacting folds. The only confession to divulge is a neatly fountain penned declaration appearing on the back cover. To wit: "July 7, 1936...All-Star Game. I worked as a Vendor...Jimmie Georgalos." And for good measure, Jimmie seized a page from a then-current tear-off calendar, and thoughtfully placed it in the program - "1936 July 7 Tuesday," of course.
