The lyrics in this sheet music fairly confirm that the publication was released to coincide with the 1921 World Series. The newly vitalized Yankees – with their featured Babe Ruth – were presently poised to challenge the old-guard Giants in this, the first World Series for the men in pinstripes. And, in essence, this very rare sheet music hearkens to the dawn of an imminent century’s worth of Yankee greatness. The piece measures 9-1/4” x 12-1/4”, and we note that it bears an extremely fine folding crease traversing horizontally (induced by its passing through the mails). We also note that the cover has undergone highly successful professional restoration to repair a one-inch tear that once extended from the right edge (and another similarly repaired on page three). Much to its credit, however, this sheet music is uniformly clean (particularly impressive in consideration that it is predominately white), and we advance it to our readership as apparent EX/MT. (Note: This sheet music listing pertains to the 1921 song, “Oh! You – Babe Ruth!” and it was composed by Miller and Vos Burgh. The same title appeared a year earlier under the authoring of Hart and Nelson; its lyrics and melody being completely different. The latter tune, as published sheet music, also appears in this catalog section.)
