Between the eras of Tad Dorgan and Willard Mullin, the king of sports cartoonists was Burris Jenkins, who dominated the field for almost two decades. This is a fabulous original Jenkins drawing of Hall of Famer Lefty Grove, anticipating Grove's 300th win in June of 1941. The date is easy to figure since Jenkins mentions that DiMaggio has just hit in his 49th straight game. Grove would go on to record his 300th victory, his last as it turned out. Measures 22" x 18" and in overall Excellent condition. Nicely "floated" in a custom-made frame.
