Drawn on The First National Bank of Nevada, this three dollar check reads, "Pay to the Order of , "Chet Coon." It has been whole-punched, "PAID 9-22-44," as was the common procedure for check cashing in the Forties. You might assume that the teller who cashed this check predicted its value in years to come. In almost sixty years, there are only two slight creases. The first runs vertically down the left-hand side of the check where it was folded almost in half. The second is a slight wrinkle that runs diagonally across the upper right-hand edge of the check, where the corner was folded down. Cobb made this check out in vintage blue fountain pen, and signed his full name, "Tyrus R. Cobb". Near Mint!
Tyrus R. Cobb Signed Check Dated September 11, 1944 -
