Morey's second favorite set for signing - significants players came through Syracuse, even in the year of issue - how would you liked to have met Tim Thompson and Tommy Lasorda as Montreal players enjoying their first card picture, or meeting Luke Easter as he reluctantly signed while sitting in the taxi cab and Steve ONeill as a Phillies Manager during teh 1954 exhibitin game. There are too many stories to tell. Complete set of 250 cards, of which 237 are autographed. The set features the signed cards of 19 Baseball Hall of Famers, including Ted Williams (2 different signed), Jackie Robinson, Aaron (rookie), Mays, Banks (rookie), Irvin, Rizzuto, Spahn, Mathews, Snider, Wilhelm, Ford, Ashburn, Berra, Doby, Lasorda (rookie), Combs, Manush and Kaline (rookie). Stars and deceased players include Lopat, Runnels, Kluszewski, B. Young, Haddix, B. Martin, Roe, Easter, Hamner, Kueen, Gilliam, Stanky, Lollar, Black, Hodges, Bilko, Del Baker, Trice, Kress, Jolly, Rowe, Hoak, Roberts, W. Jones, Lindell, V. Power, Miranda, Aloma, B. Swift, Podbielan, Haney, Boone, Scheffing, Jensen, J. Collins, Herman, Pollett, Hal Rice, McMillan, S. O'Neill, Jay, Lowrey, Wehmeier, Sarni, Haynes, H. Fox, and Jok. Overall condition is a strong Excellent or better, with many of the signed cards exhibiting clean borders, square corners and nice centering. A large majority (95%) are signed in ball-point pen, with the remainder autographed in Sharpie marker and felt tip pen. Strong signatures throughout, making this one of the more attractive 1954 Topps autographed sets to hit the market in quite some time.
