With a few pages offering peripheral accessories, this Reach catalog is otherwise dedicated to ball gloves – catcher’s mitts, basemen’s mitts and fielder’s gloves – along with a generous sampling of bats and balls. Moreover, most of the illustrations are in color…very impressive. The 32-page catalog measures 8” x 4-1/4” and it’s bound by three staples (a bit rusty, but yet firmly anchoring the publication). Most alluring in this catalog, however, is its liberal depiction (by superimposed photo mirages) of players rostered with the Philadelphia Athletics (although cameo appearances are turned in by Chick Gandil and Pete Alexander). Patriarch of the sporting goods giant was Al Reach, of course, who long maintained a close rapport with Connie Mack. This is a wonderfully visual antique catalog, and with no creases or blemishes (noting only light corner wear), it remains in strong EX condition.
