Photorealist painter Adam Port has become an art sensation in the spheres of sports and entertainment. His clientele includes influential entities like the NBA, Basketball Hall of Fame, Elvis Presley Enterprises and Topps Company, along with A-list stars like Michael Jordan, Carmelo Anthony, Ray Lewis and Jay-Z. Port's technique incorporates acrylics and colored pencil on illustration board to create mesmerizing life-like portraits. Last year, he devoted his considerable talents to the iconic work of master baseball photographer Charles Conlon. Port debuted this complete set of five oversized pieces during a gala event, “John Rogers Archive Presents the Charles Conlon Collection - Featuring Original Art by Adam Port,” which was held at Openhouse Gallery in New York City on September 19, 2011. The dramatic quintet must be seen first-hand to be fully appreciated-and to be believed at all. That a painter can defy reality by artistically replicating and even improving upon actual photographs is a true wonder to behold. Each portrait is signed by the artist, showcases Mint condition, and has been majestically matted and framed. It is important to note as well that with Adam Port's star on the rise throughout the art world, his pieces would be best considered not merely as captivating display pieces, but also as savvy financial investments.
Conlon documented the Sultan of Swat's swing throughout the 1920s in an important series of batting portraits. Dimensions: 30" x 40", framed to 42" x 52".
