Lucky Strike cigarettes could not have chosen a more talented baseball player than Harry Heilmann to appear on its trolley advertising during the mid-1920's, particularly in Detroit and particularly in odd years. It seemed that the odd-numbered years brought out the best in the Detroit Tiger and future Hall of Famer; he batted .394 in 1921, .403 in 1923, .393 in 1925, and .398 in 1927—each season good enough to win a batting title. This rare and gorgeous 11" x 21" display piece is crisp and clean with very light toning at spots along the periphery. It presents at the overall NM level and appropriately refers to Heilmann as the "World's Leading Batter." Without a doubt, this is a great period piece with definite star quality. Framed to 18-3/8" x 28-3/8" total dimensions.
