Mint! This is the squad that quashed Ty Cobb’s third and final chance at a championship. The Pirates vanquished the Tigers in 7 games in the ’09 World Series as fellow future Hall of Famers Honus Wagner and Fred Clarke combined for 12 hits and 13 RBI. Here, Wagner (in his iconic T206 image) is centered above Clarke, along with surrounding portraits of Phillippe, Camnitz, Powell, Leever, Miller, Abstein, Leifield, Simon, O’Connor, Storke, Willis, Gibson, Barbeau, Abbatichio, Leach, Maddox and Wilson. The decidedly elegant, 2-1/8" piece was produced by Cruver Mfg. Co. of Chicago and displays MT presentation quality. A finer example could not exist.
