Americana Spring 2002

Cole Bradley, noted cover and interior illustration artist, produced the bulk of his work in the 1930's to 1940's. He was regularly published within the pages of Liberty magazine, as well as many of the competitors of that venerable publication. This work may well be a finished cover of a female tennis player, seemingly missing a border pasteup, but it is also possible that it is a fully finished cover study, instead. It was obviously produced for Liberty magazine. Item: Original watercolor on board by Cole Bradley, with a 7.75 by 10.25 inch image area that is flawless. The extended border area shows glue residue, possibly indicating that a border pasteup is missing. Signed.
