For the past 60 years, every major leaguer has dreamed of a season in which he would hit .400 or better. Some have gotten close, but no one has reached that magical mark since 1941, when Ted Williams posted a .406 average. The "Splendid Splinter", who could actually see the seams of the ball as it approached the plate, has autographed this MacGregor "Official Little League" ball. Williams carefully placed a flowing black ink fountain pen "10" signature on the ball's sweet spot, thus creating a fabulous memorabilia piece. The NM ball is free of soiling or staining, and displays beautifully. The ball, with its precisely rendered, classic Williams signature, clearly was signed long before Williams' unfortunate health problems made it difficult for him to accommodate autograph requests. LOA from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA.
