Americana Fall 2002
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on:
Story illustration, most likely from American Weekly magazine (per notations on reverse), features an unexpected guest at an isolated mountain cabin. A weak and weary traveler is pictured collapsing at the front door as the two lone male occupants rush to his aid. Four small production adhesives are affixed to the corners of the painting. These served as a guide during production to define the borders of the image area for publication. This is a very interesting, striking and beautiful painting by Al Kortner. Oil on board, circa 1945, signed lower right. 22" x 30".
