All Star Comics #6 (September 1941) - CGC Universal Grade VF 8.0 with WHITE pages. Johnny Thunder joins the JSA in their fourth appearance. Moldoff and Baily art. The hapless Johnny Thunder (the "Cei-U kid") had been acting as the very questionable comic relief in the JSA's first three appearances before he was finally given the opportunity to try out for the "club." As anyone who is familiar with the 1940's Johnny already knows, this book-length adventure is full of one Johnny goof after another. Yet all works out in the end. He wins his wings at last and manages to stay in the team for another 33 issues without getting killed (at least permanently killed, anyway). The E. E. Hibbard cover pictures all of the JSA's charter members looking on, as their new initiate gets zapped by the very source of his powers, his bright pink genie named Thunderbolt. This example is a beauty, with rich cover inks and magnificent page quality.
