Batman #13 (October-November 1942) - CGC Universal Grade VF 8.0, with WHITE pages. Joker appearance. Jerry Robinson cover and art. Jack Burnley art. At the time of this writing, the CGC Census Reports that this copy is tied with one other as the third highest graded copy that they have reviewed. It's quite hard to pick a single favorite Jerry Robinson cover, considering that so many of the ones he did are so memorable. But while we can dispute which is the best, there is no way we can argue whether they are or aren't all great. They are. Kane's young assistant, who has been able to provide some solid evidence for his claim to having created the Joker, was far superior to his boss in the talent department. His fluid imagery, so similar in style to Simon, Kirby and Meskin, but so very unique as well, regularly delighted fans of the Batman line of books. The Dynamic Duo hit their bull's-eye on this cover and so did Robinson with this great effort. When you see it in this level of quality, you will appreciate it all the more.
