Graded 50 VG/EX 4 by SGC. Wilbert Robinson was one of those rare individuals that had stellar careers both as a player and as a manager. The Hall of Famer caught for 17 seasons, primarily for Baltimore, where he captained them to three straight National League Championships. He then went on to be John McGraw's right hand man for the Giants. He soon parted ways with McGraw and headed to Brooklyn where he managed the team for 18 years, leading them to two pennants. The offered card captures the catcher during his playing days for the famed Baltimore team. Given the fact that Mayo's are generally found in deplorable condition, this example is quite a find. It exhibits light wear at its corners. Robinson's image is perfect and the surface of the card is superb. The reverse has two extremely small spots of damage and very light back wrinkle which are mentioned for the sake of accuracy. Overall, this is a super example from this issue and it would surely upgrade any Mayo collection. Very Good to Excellent condition.
