On February 14, 1959 Boston Celtics great Bill Sharman became the seventh player in NBA history to score 10,000 points. Offered is the very ball used by Sharman to record that milestone mark. The official Wilson NBA basketball bears the vintage black marker notations "Bill Sharman/10,000 Pts./Boston Gardens/FEB. 14, 1959" and has been signed by 10 Boston Celtic World Champion team members including Bill Russell, Red Auerbach, Bob Cousy, Frank Ramsey, K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, Jim Loscutoff, Tommy Heinsohn, Ben Swain and Gene Conley (obviously Sharman did not sign his own ball). All of the signatures are fairly uniform in grade, averaging "9". Together with an original 1959 wire photo (9" x 7"), signed by Sharman in blue Sharpie ("9"), picturing him posing with this very ball. Later that spring the Boston Celtics went on to sweep the Minneapolis Lakers to claim the 1958/59 World Championship. Bill Sharman was one of the greatest guards in the history of the NBA. A ten time All-Star and member of Basketball's 1971 Silver Anniversary Team, he finished his career with 12,665 points. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1975. LOA from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA.
