The Green Bay Packers made a triumphant return to the NFL Championship game in 1965, defeating the Cleveland Browns 23-12 on a muddy Lambeau Field. The victory marked Lombardi's third NFL Championship with the Packers and once again established them as the most dominant team in football. Offered is an exceptional team signed Packers ball dating to that 1965 Championship season. The Wilson official NFL ball, "The Duke," has been signed in black marker by the following 42 members of the team: Lombardi, Bengston, Hecker, Miller, Wietecha, Cochran, Peppler, Hart, Wood, Bratkowski, Moore, Kostelnik, Kramer, Gremminger, Dale, Adderley, Gregg, Pitts, Dowler, Taylor, Thurston, Crutcher, Fleming, Hornung, Nitschke, Claridge, Robinson, Starr, Long, Chandler, Wright, Grimm, McGee, Davis, Skornoski, Bowman, Voss, Jordan, Aldridge, Caffey, Jeter and one other (illegible). This ball was obviously signed during the 1965 pre-season as it also features the names of three players who did not make the club that year, Hanner, McDowell and Breen. All of the signatures are quite uniform in grade, averaging "9-10" and contrast wonderfully against the light brown background of the ball. Excellent to Mint condition overall. LOA from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA.
