This boxed example of the big 1958 Lionel "Texas Special" train set (model 11-L-256) includes two of the #210 Texas Special Engines (#'s 210 T and P versions; boxes NM), the #6017 caboose (NM box), an uncataloged example of the silver-gray Gulf Oil two-dome tank car (#6465-60; NM box), and uncataloged black cannister car with three cannisters (#6112-1; box is EX/NM), the rare red Bosco Pennsylvania Rail Road boxcar (6014; GD/VG, due to tear in end flap), the automobile flat car with two original 1950's cars (#6424-60; box approaches GD, due to loose end flap and one missing internal flap), and the flat car with yellow boat (#6801-50; box is VG, with one loose internal flap). Each car comes in its original Lionel box, and the cars show only minimal evidence of use on their trucks, grading NM on average (with shelf dust from long term display as their only minor issue). The original transformer, circuit breaker, and nine sections of track are included, as well, all EX in grade. The outer box for the set remains in EX condition (bits of masking tape sections and residue from a former resealing), and the original instruction booklet is also included. A complete and desirable post-war set!
