Presented is a marvelous 31-piece collection of Kellogg's and Post Cereal promotional and packaging collectibles. With few exceptions, each item was produced between 1961 and 1963. Each relates to a particular series of baseball cards or includes examples of those cards. Not enough can be said regarding the rarity of the items presented in this offering. 1962 Display Enlargement (?) This incredibly rare piece measures 16" x 11-3/8" and is an enlargement of the standard #27 Jim Gentile card from Post's 1962 series. Its exact usage remains a mystery. To our knowledge this is the first of its kind offered at public auction. Quite possibly a one-of-a-kind item. Removed by hand from some larger piece and presenting a strong VG/EX this item does have an incidential 1" tear in the right border and a factory produced 4-1/8" curved slice in the right quarter portion. Both imperfections do little to diminish from the overall appearance, and ultimately the significance of this display related item.
Circa 1962 Post Advertising Display Poster (approximately 34" x 28") announcing "FREE Baseball Trading Cards" partnered with a portrait of L.A. Dodgers all-time great Don Drysdale. This poster does have areas of damage along with factory fold lines as issued but their significance is diluted by the deep, rich colors and sharp detail of Drysdale's image. Apparent EX display quality, with extremely strong eye appeal. This display piece has been professionally framed to an overall size of 36-3/8" x 30-3/8".
