Long before an "organized" collecting hobby existed, one dedicated enthusiast assembled—and placed into tightly wrapped rolls—these six complete runs of 1964 Topps Coins "All-Star" subsets. The offered rolls, each containing 45 coins (#'s 121-164, inclusive, plus an additional #131 Mickey Mantle variation piece) have remained intact to the present day. We opened two of the rolls' wrappers to assess condition (about NM to NM/MT with a few slightly lesser) and to verify content, and discovered that these coins display very few instances of the tarnishing and pitting that's typically seen in naturally circulated examples. The subsets' highlights include: #'s 125 B. Robinson AS, 127 Aparicio AS, 129 Kaline AS, 131 Mantle AS (LH), 131 Mantle AS (RH), 133 Killebrew AS, 134 Yastrzemski AS, 139 Ford AS, 142 Cepeda AS, 143 Mazeroski AS, 149 Aaron AS, 150 Clemente AS, 151 Mays AS, 154 F. Robinson AS, 157 Marichal AS, 159 Koufax AS and 160 Spahn AS. (One of the rolls we examined harbored the difficult #161 Causey AS/"N.L. on back" variation.) These well-preserved subsets are full of Hall of Famers and star pieces, and promise incredible "break" potential. Total 270 coins.
