Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC and the highest graded example known in the hobby. This extremely rare circa 1910 Orange Border hand-cut issue boldly portrays Cobb and his "hands apart" batting stance that served him so well during his legendary career. With its unique pose of the great Hall of Famer, its earthy palette of hues, and distinct orange border, it is one of the most visually intriguing images of Cobb. Little is known of the company that distributed these distinctive cards but they are believed to be cut from candy boxes, one card per box. Its precise centering harmonizes perfectly with the card's beautiful uncluttered design affording tremendous overall eye appeal. The corners are commendably sharp in appearance, with only traces of faint, unobtrusive surface wear within the left border. Wonderful Excellent to Near Mint condition.
