Graded 50 VG/EX 4 by SGC, the only example at its tier with none graded higher. Every enthusiast has heard theories referencing the rare Honus Wagner T206 card, and about Wagner's purported insistence that his name not be associated with tobacco. Many collectors are unaware, however, that Wagner was pictured in another, contemporary tobacco insert issue: the T216 Kotton Cigarettes release, produced regionally by the Peoples Tobacco Company, Ltd., of New Orleans. Presented is a fabulously impressive example of the impossibly difficult T216 Wagner. This example is the "FACTORY No. 4" reverse on thin card stock. When they do surface, cards from this series are usually encountered in deplorable condition, a fact that makes this specimen all the more desirable. It has fantastic eye appeal, and the colors are essentially perfect. The card's centering is phenomenal for the type. The item's corners show acceptable wear, and the boldly printed reverse carries a black-inked "Kotton Cigarettes" advertisement. This is a visually compelling tobacco card of Wagner, and, while it will probably never carry a million-dollar price tag, it should be noted that far fewer T216 Wagners have been confirmed to exist than are known in the fabled T206 version. Very Good to Excellent condition.
