As haunting at the circumstances surrounding Cincinnati's 1919 World Series title remain, so, too is this the nature of this impeccably well-maintained "OFFICIAL REDS of 1919" souvenir guide. From the personal collection of that team's center fielder, Edd Roush, this 48-page publication contains page-by-page player profiles, the principals' images colorized throughout. The guide is flecked with ads for local businesses, urging Reds fans to patronize their Queen City merchants. Through a diamond-shaped opening on the green-hued cover, the reader finds the booklet's inaugural subject in skipper Pat Moran. This guide borders on NM-condition quality, with its covers and all pages crisp, sturdy and completely intact. Accompanying is an LOA signed by the husband of Roush's granddaughter, attesting to the item's provenance.
