Turned annually by Kentucky's famed Hillerich & Bradsby manufacturer, these commemorative black bats are distributed to the principals of the Fall Classic. Offered here are weapons honoring the combatants of the 1941 World Series. With rosters ravaged because of World War II, the Yankees and Dodgers did battle that October, marking the first of seven showdowns between the Bronx and Brooklyn boroughs over a 16-year stretch. With the familiar centerbrand and the appropriate team title engraved just to the right (i.e. "NEW YORK YANKEES - WORLDS CHAMPIONS - 1941"), these 35" display relics are decorated with facsimile signatures or block-letter (full name) stampings of players and team personnel. (The facsimile signatures represent players who were under contract with H&B.) With names like DiMaggio, Gomez, Durocher and Owen, these EX/MT items are sure to conjure up fond memories.
