Offered is a collection of Hillerich & Bradsby signature model bats used by Jewish players throughout the 20th century. Heavy use is evident throughout, with cracks (as noted) on most. Included are: Morrie Arnovich - a 35", 35-oz. model wielded by Arnovich during his 1936-1941 tenure in the National League. There is chipping about the knob and severe checking on the barrel. Graded 6; Ron Blomberg - a 36", 35-oz. model used by who was to become the game's first-ever designated hitter (1973) during the early portion (1969-1972) of his career with the Bronx Bombers. The is a lengthy H-shaped handle crack and what appears to by a Star of David inscribed on the knob in black marker. Graded 7; Andy Cohen - a 32-1/2", 32-oz. weapon brandished by the Baltimore native during his career (1926-1929) as the New York Giants second baseman. Sporting a Hornsby knob, the bat has a series of bat boy nails used to mend a sizable crack on the front of the barrel. Graded 6; Mike Epstein - a 33-3/4", 31-1/-oz. "ME4" example employed by the Bronx-born first baseman affectionately known as "Superjew" during his nine-year career (1966-1974) in the American League. Multiple handle cracks; Joe Ginsberg - an uncracked 34-1/2", 32-1/2-oz. "W148" model wielded by the well-traveled backstop during the 1950-1960 labeling period. Just below the barrel stampings, Ginsberg's blue marker signature shows "9" strength. Graded 8; Buddy Myer - a 35", 33-oz. bat used by the 1935 American League batting champ during the latter portion (1934-1941) of his career with the Washington Senators. Uncracked. Graded 8; Goodwin Rosen - a 34", 32-oz. model brandished by the first Canadian-born player to be named to the All-Star team (1945). Used during Rosen's 1937 stint with the American Association's Louisville club (Rosen didn't debut with the Dodgers until September 14 of that year), the side-written bat bears a grease pencil notation of "33 oz. Godwin Rosen 7-20-37 - Louisville A.A." Multiple cracks and checking throughout, with a multitude of bat boy nails. Graded 6; Si Rosenthal - a 35", 34-oz. weapon used during the Boston-born outfielder's two-year career (1925-1926) with the Red Sox. There is a 5" H-shaped handle crack, 17 vintage bat boy nails on the barrel and both an "A" stamping and lathe mark on the knob. Graded 6. LOA from John Taube/PSA DNA.
