This lot consists of 62 different issues of DC's superhero, sci-fi and adventure comic book titles, plus all four issues of Altas's Spy Thrillers title—a total of 66 books. All date from 1952 to 1958, and some tougher issues are included. These books have spent much of their lifetime in a basement, so they have obtained that characteristic smell of mildew, an odor that is so very familiar to fans of paper collectibles. All display varying degrees of tanning to the interior edges of their covers and (to a lesser degree) their pages, and equally varying amounts of light soiling from handling and years of dust accumulation (mostly only visible on the outer rear covers). Page quality generally averages "light tan to cream." A couple of issues display some soiling marks from food spills, like most vintage childhood assemblies. These books have not been sent to a grading service for encapsulation, so you will still actually be able to read and enjoy them. We have tried to grade them all conservatively, but we encourage you to ask any questions that you may have. Lots of great pre-code and early code period stories within this pile!

The Run of Atlas's Spy Thrillers:

Spy Thrillers (4 issues) #'s 1 (11/54; Brodsky cover; VG- due to small chips at head and foot of cover's spine), 2 (1/55; Brodsky cover; last pre-code issue; Fair/GD, due to cover and 1st outer wrap detaching from book's single staple), 3 (3/55; VG/FN), and 4 (5/55; VG/FN). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the lower edges) and "light tan to cream" pages on average.

The DC Assortment of 62 Issues Includes:

Action Comics (7 issues) #'s 171 (8/52; GD, due to heavy cover wear only), 191 (4/54; VG-), 192 (5/54; VG-, with small amount of pencil scribbling on rear cover and thin strips of heat shadowing on both covers), 193 (6/54; VG-, with one light ripple in front cover), 203 (4/55; VG-, due to heat shadows on both covers), 212 (1/56; VG, with heat shadow on back cover and uneven tanning streaks on the interior pages), and 213 (2/56; VG+, with phone # penned along bottom border of 1st page). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the open and lower edges) and "light tan to cream" pages on average.

Adventure Comics (14 issues) #'s 198 (3/54; VG), 200 (5/54; Fair/GD, due primarily to tape pull of 1-/2" x 3/4" in the cover's center), 203 (8/54; VG), 206 (11/54; GD, due to faint water stain along edge of last page and back cover, plus a water spot by the DC bullet on the front cover), 207 (12/55; Last Johnny Quick; Fair/GD, due to cover spine split that runs half way down), 208 (1/56; GD+, due to water stain at top left corner of back cover and last few pages), 209 (2/57; Last pre-code issue—Origin of Speedy; GD/VG; color lift and other humidity effects on outer covers and last page), 214 (7/57; 2nd Krypto cover and story; GD, due to water stain at upper open corner that is smaller in the front, growing larger towards the rear), 217 (10/55; VG), 219 (12/55; GD-, due to water staining and other humidity effects), 221 (2/56; GD- due to water stain along top of front cover and the first few pages), 225 (6/56; GD-, due to water stain at top of back cover and last few pages), 227 (8/56; VG-, with a very thin and faint humidity stain along long leading edge of cover and 1st page), and 236 (5/57; GD-; water stain along book's top edge). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the open and lower edges) and cream-colored pages on average.

Batman (1 issue) #96 (12/55; Fair/GD; covers' spine has split half way; tanning inside covers and cream-colored pages).

Blackhawk (6 issues from Quality and 3 from DC; 9 issues total) #'s 69 (10/53; GD/VG), 80 (9/54; Fair/GD, due primarily to water stain along top edge of book), 89 (6/55; VG+), 93 (10/55; Origin in text; Fair/GD; light water stain along top edge of book and rusty staples), 95 (12/55; VG), 103 (8/56; VG), 118 (11/57; Frazetta reprint from Johnny Wakely #4—3 pages; Fair/GD, due primarily to water stain along top edge of book and rust on one staple), 120 (1/58; Robot cover; GD/VG, due to slight rippling at the book's long open edge and a touch of rust at the top staple), and 121 (2/58; FN-). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the open and lower edges) and "light tan to cream" pages on average.

My Greatest Adventure (9 issues) #'s 1 (1-2/55; VG, with very pale tanning on the inside covers and to a lesser degree on the extreme lower edge of the creamy pages), 2 (3-4/55; VG), 4 (7-8/55; GD+, due entirely to a 3/4" x 1/2" chip out of front cover's lower left corner—would be FN otherwise), 5 (9-10/55; VG/FN; thin heat shadow down long open edge of back cover), 6 (11-12/55; Science Fiction format begins; GD/VG, with small chips from one corner of the first four pages), 7 (1-2/56; VG+), 8 (3-4/56; VG+), 9 (5-6/56; VG+), and 10 (7-8/56; VG+). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the lower edges) and cream-colored pages on average.

Mystery In Space (4 issues) #'s 24 (2-3/55; last pre-code issue; VG), 27 (8-9/55; GD-, due to a few very light and relatively innocuous water marks), 29 (12/55-1/56; GD, due to spots of soiling on back cover), and 38 (6-7/57; GD/VG, due to fading along spine). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the open and lower edges) and cream-colored pages on average.

Strange Adventures (14 issues) #'s 51 (12/54; GD/VG), 53 (2/55; last pre-code issue; VG), 62 (11/55; GD+, due to a couple of small areas of water spotting on covers), 64 (1/56; VG, with a small chew at heel of spine and a narrow sun shadow along the long open side of the back cover), 65 (2/56; GD/VG, due to small triangle of missing paper from bottom right corner of front cover and a narrow heat shadow along the long open side of the back cover), 66 (3/56; GD+, due to neat 3" closed tear at top of front cover and a thin band of fading in the same area), 67 (4/56; VG), 68 (5/56; VG-), 69 (6/56; VG-), 70 (7/56; GD+, due to 1-1/2" x 3/8" chip out of cover and a heat shadow and minor chipping along lower edge of back cover), 75 (12/56; VG), 78 (3/57; VG), 79 (4/57; VG), and 82 (7/57; GD/VG). All are 100% complete, with varying degrees of tanning on the covers (mostly on the interiors and principally along the lower edges) and cream-colored pages on average.

Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen (3 issues) #'s 2 (11-12/54; GD, due to edge chipping on front cover; tanning covers and pages), 4 (3-4/54; 1st code approved issue; VG, with lightly tanning covers and pages), 8 (10/55; Fair/GD, due to neat split half way through the cover's spine and a thin band of color fade along the spine, otherwise it looks FN; light tanning to covers and faintly along the lower edges of the pages).

World's Finest Comics (1 issue) #79 (11-12/55; 1st time travel story with Superman, Batman and Robin together?; GD, due to edge chipping on back cover; tanning to interior covers; light tan to cream pages).

Plus a small assortment of lower grade reading copies that are not included in the total count, just tossed in for fun!
