These three strands of Andrew Jackson's hair are attested to by the late autograph expert and author Charles Hamilton. Hamilton's signed certification appears at the bottom of the display and reads, "I certify that I have examined the original authentication, of which an exact photocopy appears above, and find that it is a genuine document of the period, recording that this is the hair of ANDREW JACKSON, no doubt cut from his head, as was the custom of the time, right after his death in 1845. (Signed) Charles Hamilton." The strands (the longest measuring approximately 1-1/8" long) are secured within a 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" plastic sleeve that is affixed to an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of paper. The page also features color photocopies of Jackson's image and the letters of authenticity which Hamilton referenced. LOA from foremost celebrity-hair authenticator John Reznikoff.
