At long last, the other New York team earned the rite of passage. The American League had plied its industry for twenty years, and the Yankees had yet to claim a berth to the World Series. Armed now with the mighty Ruth, the Yankees embarked in 1921 on a thrilling odyssey—one that, to date, has netted 26 World Crowns on the strength of 39 Pennant Championships. It all began in '21 when this program was first sold to an anxious fan about to witness a duel between the old-guard Giants of McGraw against the fresh Yankees. Though somewhat elementary, this program was scored in pencil, and it appears to be Game 2. The publication is about GD/VG. Its pages are unblemished while the cover bears a vertical crease that encroaches the portrait image of Miller Huggins. Moderate soiling appears along the length of the left border. The piece remains firmly bound by its original staples and mild/moderate wear fairly characterizes the spine. Ultimately, a very equitable relic from the Yankees' first ever World Series.
