1894 N354 Consolidated "Turn Cards" Complete Set (25)

Presented is a quite possibly unique 25-card complete set of N354 Consolidated Turn Cards  produced in 1894. This clever issue was designed with half of one scene printed on the "obverse" with the other half of the same scene printed on the "reverse." Consumers could attach thin string via supplied punch holes and then twist, or rotate the card quickly creating the visual illusion of a complete scene. Issued in two sizes, all but two of the collectibles are the 1-5/8" x 2-7/8" variety. Although the cards were not issued with string, eleven cards have one or two pieces of string still attached. Due to the intended interactivity, high grade examples of these 100+ year old relics are almost impossible to acquire. The set grades 60% GD to VG, 40% lesser with a few hand cut.
