An incredibly rare example of an actual lace-up style jersey from the 1890's. Recalling the days of the old Baltimore Orioles and Louisville Colonels, this high collared, century old treasure features its original burgundy laces, original "detachable" sleeves, a magnificent crimson "NBF" on the left breast, and a "Spalding" tag in the collar. This particular jersey is absolutely the finest and most complete example of this rare uniform type that we have ever seen. By its level of preservation, it was conscientiously wrapped for posterity over a hundred years ago, to emerge in the beautiful Excellent to Mint condition it is in today. Spectacular for display, combining both lush color, rich flannel, and profound heritage with completely original sleeves and laces. The first to be auctioned here at Mastro's attesting to its incredible rarity.
