Trivia: from which side of the plate did Mickey Mantle launch the majority of his career 536 home runs? Of his impressive total, Mantle belted 373 from the left side of the plate. Offered here is a 20-3/4"-tall, 45-pound Mickey Mantle artwork by sculptor Chris Brown depicting the Hall of Fame slugger in his left-handed batting stance. The switch-hitting standout is crafted in full Bomber regalia, and wonderful detail is present throughout as the bronze figurine takes note of Mantle's facial features, as well as his deceptively muscular build. The wood slab on which the superstar stands bears a plaque that reads, "MICKEY MANTLE - BY CHRIS BROWN," and the work is mounted to a thick, 1-3/4" x 11" x 20-3/4" rotating base, which allows the viewer to turn the piece 360°. Please note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot, the cost of shipping may be substantial.
