One of a select few chosen by National Car Rental to express his views on "What it takes to be No. 1," legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi composed a telling, heartfelt message that the corporation proudly used to hawk its own product. Offered here is a signed copy of one such ad. Housed in a 11-1/8" x 14-1/8" frame, this cream-colored page features the above-mentioned heading and a cameo image of the Hall of Fame mentor. In plain text, Lombardi's beliefs are printed below the subtitled "You've got to pay the price" doctrine. At the conclusion, the "NATIONAL CAR RENTAL" logo appears—as does Lombardi's black ink signature ("10" strength). The item shows apparent EX/MT quality, with no creases or tears. In the frame, as well, is another version of the ad. Subtitled "You've got to hang in there," this particular display (not signed) details how Baltimore quarterback Earl Morrall emerged from obscurity to lead the 1968 Colts to the championship contest. LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA.
