Each card has been graded by SGC. Tip Top Bakery has long been a franchised operation. On three separate occasions during the 20th Century, the company promoted itself with baseball "card" productions. Presented is a 24-card near set of that earliest effort, which became available in western Pennsylvania in 1910 and specifically celebrated the World Champions Pittsburgh Pirates. The method of distribution for the issue is uncertain. Perhaps it was one card per retail unit. Illogically, the set could be obtained in exchange for 50 labels of the local sponsor (Ward Mackey Co.). For modern collectors of such esoterica, the riddle is moot; simply put, these items are extremely scarce! Furthermore, as single cards from this issue surfaced in the hobby, their condition was usually unpalatable even for the most forgiving collector's taste. That is not an issue with this offering. Includes: Graded SGC 80 EX/NM 6: 1 card, #7 Dots Miller; SGC 70 EX+ 5.5: 2 cards w/#'s 13 Byrne and 21 O'Connor; SGC 60 EX 5: 11 cards w/#'s 1 Dryfuss/President, 2 Locke/Secretary, 3 Fred Clarke, 6 Gibson, 8 Camnitz, 10 Leifield, 11 Maddox, 15 Webb, 16 Campbell, 18 Leever and 22 Flynn; SGC 50 VG/EX 4: 4 cards w/#'s 9 Babe Adams, 20 Hyatt, 23 White and 25 Forbes Field; SGC 40 VG 3: 5 cards w/#'s 5 Leach, 12 Deacon Phillippe, 14 Abbaticchio, 17 Wilson and 19 Simon; SGC 10 PR 1: 1 card, #24 Tip-Top Mascot
