This is one of the many different poster images that James Montgomery Flagg (1877-1960) created for the United States Government. The poster's "Tell That To The Marines!" message obviously identifies it as a recruiting poster for the U.S. Marine Corps. A buffed, future recruit is the poster's central image, pictured as he whips off his suit coat after reading this shocking newspaper headline: "Huns Kill Women and Children!" Flagg's printed name appears near the bottom of his creation. This 30" x 40" poster presents at the minimally VG/EX level with light soiling and regionalized paper loss. Several areas of paper separation along the periphery is evident, most notably a 3"-long tear along the left border and 2"-long tear at the top border. The strong, patriotic image, however, remains unfazed.
