Reporting back to the organization with which he began his magnificent career, future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux logged 16 mound triumphs—including career win No. 300—during the 2004 season, his nineteenth. Here offered is a Chicago Cubs road jersey worn and autographed by the strike-throwing icon that season. This gray knit button-down garment features "CHICAGO" arched across the chest in blue-on-white double tackle twill, while "31" is sewn to the back and left front in red-on-white twill. (On the upper portion of the "3" on the back, Maddux's black Sharpie signature projects "9" strength.) In blue-on-white, "MADDUX" is arched atop the number on the back. A team logo patch adorns the left sleeve while, situated within the collar, a swatch tag has Swiss embroidered identifiers that read: "31 48 04 S3." On the left front tail, a "Majestic" label is accompanied by a size "48' flap tag. Within the left side seam, a fabric content tag has a "0062" gamer code. Minimal wear. LOA from Mastro Auctions, Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA and James Spence Authentication.
