Presented is an unusual and scarce celluloid campaign button from 1904. The piece depicts Republican candidates Teddy Roosevelt and Charles Fairbanks, along with the graphic promise of a "Full Dinner Pail." The "Dinner Pail" image—borrowed from the successful McKinley campaign of 1900—reminded voters that America was prosperous, everyone had plenty to eat, and that the referenced election (assuming it went in the Republicans' favor) would result in continued prosperity. The well-centered, 1-1/4"-diameter novelty reveals a few tiny surface bumps, yet maintains NM condition. A sought-after and visually amusing relic of "TR's" 1904 campaign.
