This is an outstanding pair of rare campaign ink blotters that individually depict the candidates for each of the two major political parties. The Republican candidate, and ultimate victor in the presidential race, was Warren G. Harding. The Democrat was James M. Cox, whose legacy has become his image on the rarest of political campaign memorabilia. Interestingly, both blotters feature the caption, "President of the United States." (The National Printing Service company that produced them was hedging its bet!) The Cox is especially rare. Both measure 6" x 3-1/2". The items display minimally NM appearance (with some back-wrinkles—heaviest on the Cox piece—as usually seen in porous-stock blotters of this kind), and have never performed their intended ink-blotting function.
