Two significant items presented to National League umpire E. Lee Ballanfant, whose career spanned the years 1936-1957. The first is a 1951 World Series ring belonging to Ballanfant's wife. The 14k gold ring manufactured by Balfour has a single diamond set within a silver baseball diamond design on top. Surrounding this, in raised letters, is 'World Series Umpire.' '19' and '51' are engraved on each side, respectively, adjacent to the silver diamond design. One side of the ring has 'Yankees' in raised lettering above the Yankees Top Hat logo. The opposite side has 'Giants' in raised lettering above a baseball. The inside is engraved 'Mrs. E. Lee Ballanfant.' Excellent to Mint condition. The second item is a 10k gold lifetime pass (2 +' x 1 7/8') issued to 'E. Lee Ballanfant' by 'The Major Leagues of Professional BaseballàIn appreciation of long and meritorious service.' Excellent to Mint condition. The pass is accompanied by its original leather carrying case, which is in Good to Very Good condition.
