The Big Apple and Schaefer Beer had a long-lasting relationship. That romance ultimately spilled over into the National Pastime when an illuminated Schaefer beer advertisement took up residence in the outfield of Ebbets Field. As many fans still recall, the sign's letter "h" would light up if a player reached base on a hit, while the "e" would illuminate if he got on base due to an error. It should come as no surprise then that when the Brooklyn Dodgers finally captured a World Series title, the Schaefer Brewing Company was ready to celebrate! As part of an advertising campaign, the brewery created these bright and colorful "pup-tent" advertising signs designed not only to promote not only a "real beer" like Schaefer, but also the 1955 World Champion Brooklyn Dodgers! Unlike many of these items, this two-sided, 5-1/2" x 4" exemplar avoided its expected fate and shows no evidence of having been used. Presenting EX/MT condition, it is one of the best copies of a small find of a few dozen of these keepsakes. A "key" chart, identifying all of the pictured players, accompanies.
